The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present a new event series, the Women Mean Business: LeadHER Lunch Series — a quarterly luncheon designed to connect, inspire, and empower women in business. This “power hour” style event is your opportunity to network with other professionals and hear from dynamic local leaders who are making an impact in our community. Event doors will open for 11:00AM and Secretary Griffin will begin speaking at 11:30AM. 

Meet Our Speaker - Secretary Melanie S. Griffin, Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation
Melanie S. Griffin, Esq. is the Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, overseeing more than 1.7 million licensees across 30+ industries. Appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2022, she brings two decades of experience as an attorney, business leader, and entrepreneur.
A triple graduate of Florida State University, Melanie has been recognized among Florida’s “Power 100” and honored with numerous awards for her professional excellence and community leadership. She is also the founder of Spread Your Sunshine, empowering others through mentorship, training, and inspirational products.

Passionate about service, Melanie has led major professional associations, served on statewide boards, and raised nearly $1.5 million as co-chair of the 2022 Tampa Heart Ball. She is most proud of building others up, especially alongside her husband, Mike, their son, Maverick, and golden lab, Molly.

What is the Department of Business and Professional Regulation? The Department of Business and Professional Regulation is the agency charged with licensing and regulating businesses and professionals in the State of Florida, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, real estate agents and pari-mutuel wagering facilities. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.
