Communications Specialist
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Communications Specialist to join our Chamber of Commerce team!
As a Communication Specialist at the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce, you will manage all our communications flows, within and outside of the Chamber. In addition, you will be responsible for promoting a positive public image of the Chamber, our members, events and area.

Communications Specialist job description:
- Create effective communication strategies for our Chamber
- Craft and send regular newsletters with Chamber updates
- Design work
- Assist in organizing initiatives and planning events, meetings and seminars
- Manage social media platforms for messaging from the Chamber and VisitPerdido
- Collaborate with team to produce copy for advertisements or articles
- Write content for company website and visitor guide
- Work with team to create visitor guide. Secure articles, run photo contest, sell ads
- Help as needed in office, i.e., answer phones, events, etc.
- Proven experience as communications specialist
- Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading and editing
- Photo and video-editing skills a plus.
- Excellent communication, (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Experience in content production is a big plus
- Familiarity with B2B and B2C advertising campaigns
- Hands-on experience with web content management tools, like WordPress
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proficiency in Canva and/or any design programs
- Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
- Experience with marketing campaigns on social media
- BSc/BA in public relations, communications or relevant field or similar work experience
