FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lee Charities is proud to announce the appointment of Mitchell Lee as President.
Lee Charities was founded in 2024 by David and Mitchell Lee with a mission to elevate the nonprofit and social services network in Baldwin County, Alabama through leadership, insight, and giving. The organization’s vision is to see Baldwin County nonprofits thrive through collaboration, connection, and shared resources. Lee Charities works to bridge community resources with organizations that are meeting critical needs across the county.
Mitchell Lee is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and is a graduate of the University of West Florida, where he earned a degree in Psychology. He later completed a Master of Social Work at Arizona State University. Mitchell has been actively involved in nonprofit work since 2015, beginning his career as a case manager at a 100-bed men’s homeless shelter. He earned his State of Alabama Social Work License in 2018.
From 2018 to 2024, Mitchell served as Executive Director of the South Baldwin Literacy Council in Foley Alabama, where he focused on addressing gaps within the nonprofit sector, particularly in the areas of educational services. Throughout his career, Mitchell has worked across multiple sectors including homelessness, education, mental health, and land conservation. He also serves on several community boards and is deeply passionate about fostering growth and transformation at both the individual and organizational levels.
As President of Lee Charities, Mitchell will continue to support nonprofit efforts across multiple sectors while advocating for individuals and families who rely on charitable and nonprofit services in Baldwin County. His goal is to inspire community members to give of themselves and support those who may be facing difficult life circumstances.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to further serve organizations that are doing meaningful work in Baldwin County,” said Mitchell Lee.
Mitchell currently resides in Fairhope with his wife, Shea, and their three children, Mabel, Davis, and Oliver, with another child expected later this month.
