The 'Keys to Success' Recognized for Outstanding Accomplishments in 2018 from the Perdido Chamber

Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting highlights success from 2018, looks forward to a positive 2019, and recognizes annual award winners who make a difference in the community.
PERDIDO KEY, FLA. December 14, 2018 – What did the Perdido Chamber accomplish in 2018? Members and Community members attended the Perdido Chamber’s Annual meeting on November 30, 2018 to reflect on how far we have come within the past year, discover what’s next for our area, and of course hear the winners for the 2018 Keys to Success Awards.
The 2018 Annual Meeting and Awards program began with a welcome by the 2018 Chairman of the Board, Cameron Price of the Flora-Bama. After leading a successful year as chairman of the board, he wistfully reflected on how far the chamber has come in such a short period of time, and shared excitement about where we are headed in the future.
During a delicious brunch, the Annual Awards Sponsor, The Veranda of Pensacola, spoke about some of the new and exciting programs that are available at the Veranda and how they have been able to use the Chamber to advance their business!
The bulk of the Annual Meeting was led by the President/CEO of the Perdido Chamber, Dana Pagador. She reported on statistics covering all aspects of membership, marketing, event successes and inaugural initiatives implemented this year. Her inspiring and affectionate congratulations, gave a much needed thanks to the 2018 Board of Directors. Cameron Price was then awarded with a small award of thanks for his service leading the Board of Directors in 2018, officially kicking off the presentation of awards.
The Chamber Members cheered and congratulated our prestigious award winners of each category, as they are some great and worthy members of our community. The winners of each award are as follows:
- Island Spirit Individual: Judy Davis, Perdido Key Sports Bar & Perdido Key Souvenirs and More
- Island Spirit Member: Innerarity Ace Hardware
- Advocate Individual: Dee Marie Fisher, Better Homes & Gardens, Main Street Properties
- Community Service Member: Valerie Hawkins, Perdido Realty
- Non-Profit Member: Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon
- Small Business Member: SouthTel, Inc.
- Large Business Member: Flora-Bama
- Board Member of the Year: Erin Wilmer & Sally Bowen
All winners and nominees were recognized and voted on by their fellow Perdido Chamber members because of their visual accomplishments and work ethic in the community.
After the awards presentation, the brand new 2019 Members of the Board were presented to the membership. The newly elected and re-elected board members to join the current directors are as follows: Jim Beran- Gilmore Services, Sally Bowen- Sally’s Island Catering, Vicky Chandler- Perdido Pack & Ship, Greg Jones- Lost key Golf Club, Pat McClellan- Flora-Bama, Kim Parker- Florida Blue, and Cameron Price- Flora-Bama.
The 2019 Chairman of the Board, Jim Beran of Gilmore Services, then gave some inspiration and confidence towards the Chamber’s direction in this upcoming year, during his “Looking Ahead” message.
The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce has shown that they have come a long way to be able to share today’s success stories. “It is essential to take the time to honor those who truly make a difference.” Said Dana Pagador, President/CEO of the Perdido Chamber. “Our community and its businesses look to these local leaders and advocates to progress the goals and initiatives for overall success in the area to which we all live, work, and play. It has been proven time and time again that with unity all things are possible! It was an honor to serve with the fantastic mentors from our 2018 Board of Directors, and with the welcoming of our Incoming 2019 Board of Directors, it is clear Perdido’s future is as bright as ever!”
